The South African Petroleum Industry Association today released its 2008
Annual Report. The report highlights the challenges, opportunities and
general issues faced by its members at a time when the industry is
striving to meet the rapidly growing demand for petroleum products.
The annual report provides details on a wide range of issues and their ramifications, including but not limited to:
• economic regulation and legislation;
• security of product supply;
• crime and security;
• environmental performance including fuel specifications for the future, energy efficiency and recycling;
• transformation progress; and
• corporate social investment.
The
report also contains a ‘Facts and figures’ appendix which provides
comprehensive statistical information on the industry. Included is the
crude oil price movements; consumption of petroleum products; capacity
of South African refineries; information on fuel taxes and price
breakdowns; health, safety and environment performance indicators and an
industry workforce profile.
